Our technology uses modern facial recognition tools that scan and identify a person without the need to store their photograph but by means of an anonymous set of mathematical data (algorithm) on a point-based representation. Our facial recognition software, with its advanced technology, compares the dots and physical features of the face without the need for it to require or store a photographic record. Tecalis Identity's technology thus presents a much more practical and secure solution than the model based on photographic comparisons and does not compromise the privacy of its user

Legal validity of the product

Facial recognition is a system that uses software to identify people in a digital image by comparing their characteristics with those previously stored in databases, such as an ID card or passport. It is necessary, therefore, to take into account the data protection regulations established in Organic Law 15/1999, which defines "biometric data" as personal data obtained from a specific technical treatment, relating to the physical, physiological or behavioral characteristics of a natural person that allow or confirm the unique identification of that person, such as facial images or dactyloscopy data.

Our facial recognition software does not recognize images or compare photographs of a face, but with its advanced technology compares points and physical features of the face without the need for it to require or store a photographic record.

Technology encryption

Tecalis Identity technology offers a much more practical and secure solution than the model based on photographic comparisons, in addition to not compromising the privacy of users.

In the event that a signature made with our advanced electronic signature solution is challenged, this information is not required, although it is necessary to provide personal data such as name, surname, address, etc. The novelty lies in the fact that the application identifies the user by comparing his or her national identity card photo with the image stored in the application's database, which was obtained when the user uploaded the selfie he or she was asked to register previously.

The protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data is a fundamental right. In this regard, the principles and rules relating to the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of their personal data must, whatever their nationality or residence, respect their fundamental rights and freedoms, in particular, the right to the protection of personal data:

Therefore, it is necessary to take into account the data protection regulations laid down in Organic Law 15/1999 (General Data Protection Regulation).
Article 9 of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) states in this regard: "The processing of personal data revealing racial or ethnic origin, political opinions, religious or philosophical beliefs, or trade union membership and the processing of genetic data, biometric data intended to uniquely identify a natural person, data concerning health or data concerning the sex life or sexual orientations of a natural person are prohibited."
The fact that the user is aware that he/she is being subjected to identity recognition by means of biometric data exclusively for the aforementioned cases and that there is express consent from the user for its use within the current legal frameworks, makes this identification mechanism comply with what is established within the legal-legal framework.
